SUMMARY

Specialization in creating and managing 2D and 3D computer graphics for real-time interactive software. Formal art, illustration, and graphic design background with training in technical illustration, concept art, figure drawing, and color theory. Multimedia background with training in 3D animation, video editing, web design, and audio editing.  Proven ability to lead, delegate, and work in groups, excellent planning and organizational skills, and all-around computer skills gained through lifelong use.

EXPERIENCE

2008-Present: ITT Technical Institute

·Full-time Instructor. Currently teaching 7 classes in: 3D Animation, Interface Design, and Instructional Design; using Maya and 3D Studio Max, UnrealEd, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and other Adobe applications.  Past courses taught include: Design Theory, Web Design, Game Engines/Game Production, and Rapid Visualization/Technical Illustration.

2008-Present: Real-Time Interactive Software Development Project

·Technical Director & Production Lead:  Currently working on project developing real-time interactive software.  Co-developed editing software application for creating and managing 3D environments. Contributions include:

  • Establishing the necessary toolset and functionality to be programmed
  • Creating application icons and interface manipulator objects
  • Researching & implementing techniques for maximum quality and optimization of visual assets
  • Creating all 2D and 3D external assets to be imported into the real-time application.

2006-2008: ITT Technical Institute

·Adjunct Instructor. Taught up to 5 classes per quarter in the subjects and software mentioned above.  Promoted to Full-Time Instructor.  Improved overall quality of both Multimedia and Digital Entertainment & Game Design programs in the following ways:

  • ensured that software needs were always met
  • insisted on holding students to a higher quality standard of work
  • increased the overall quality of instruction in the MM and DEGD programs
  • grew the DEGD major from 9 students to 31 students during this period. 

2006: HGTV/Scripps Networks

· Freelance Designer. Used Photoshop to prepare mass quantities of images for use in new HGTV Bath & Spa website. Made composition choices and maximized image quality. Sized and sorted images for various parts of site.

2005: Tennessee Environmental Council

· Web Designer. Completely overhauled and redesigned TEC website (http://www.tectn.org), including site’s appearance, interface, functionality, layout, and structure.

2003 – 2004: Computer Acquisitions and Resale

· Self-employed Co-Founder of business enterprise. Located and purchased bulk computers, diagnosed and refurbished systems, advertised and arranged sales to individuals and groups.

2002: Department of Technology, East Tennessee State University

· Instructor –CADD Systems. Taught presentation-intensive class with hands-on lab concerning computer hardware installation, identification, setup, and maintenance. Reviewed industry-leading design and production software.

2000 – 2001: College of Education, East Tennessee State University

· Web Design and Site Maintenance. Implemented new format of COE website, designed and created new web pages, updated site content, ensured accuracy and continuity, and assisted faculty in uploading sites and info.

· April 1996: Whirlpool Scholarship Foundation winner.

· 1995-1996: Editorial Editor of high school newspaper. 1996 CHS Journalism Student of the Year award.
